Hedgefield House

Type: Guest House
Georgian mansion house approximately 2 miles from A1(M), 3 miles from Gateshead Metro Centre and 4 miles from Newcastle city centre. We stand in 3 acres of wooded and formal gardens, with pond, streams and a waterfall. The house was built in the early 19thC and has been refurbished to the highest standards. The drawing-room at Hedgefield House was the site of the 1st telephone experiments by Alexander Graham Bell and documents show it was the 1st house in Great Britain to have a telephone installed. Our new leisure complex offers gym and sauna. We can also provide sports massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. Our conference room is beautifully appointed in period style and caters for groups of up to 18 people. We offer luxurious accommodation with personal service in beautiful historic setting with a warm welcome always guaranteed.
