Newcastle International Airport is located only 6 miles from Newcastle city centre, with excellent public transport connections to destinations throughout the region by bus, Metro or taxi. Direct rail services operate from most cities in Britain to Newcastle and from September a new three times daily service will link Sunderland to Kings Cross in London. The Metro service also serves Newcastle Central Station and provides Metro services throughout the region conveniently and frequently.
