Newcastle Association of City Guides offer walking tours of the city usually lasting one and a half hours. The tours explore Newcastle - a city with 2,000 years of history and culture, full of interesting buildings and amazing pieces of public art. There are tours especially for the visitor at 11.00am daily (except Sunday) during July and August, and on Wednesday and Saturday during June and September. There is also a programme of special walks on Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm and Wednesday evenings, between April and October. City Sightseeing North East operates a regular open-top tour bus service around NewcastleGateshead, taking in St James' Park, Grainger Town, the Quayside and bridges, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, The Sage Gateshead and the Ouseburn Valley.
