For all those artistic types looking for craft shops in Newcastle, Gateshead, South Tyneside or North Tyneside, there are plenty on offer! The Biscuit Factory is Europe's biggest original art store. They sell paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, ceramics and glass by artists from all over the world.

For beautiful ceramics pop into David Fry Ceramics in Black Swan Courtyard. As for the other craft shops in Newcastle, the Newcastle Arts Centre and the Laing Art Gallery are also worth visiting.

Eye-catching hand made pieces of jewellery, glassware and ceramics are a Sunderland speciality, with craft and gift shops, accredited by the Crafts Council, on the ground floor of the City Library & Arts Centre featuring the works of up and coming designer/makers.
