Once upon a Tyne is set in a historic Georgian House. We are a quality hotel where cleanliness, modern decor and mod cons are a given. TV and DVD players are in every room and secure parking is available onsite. For your convenience we provide self-service continental breakfast from 7am until midday in our "Break-the-fast" room and free tea and coffee all day.
We also offer a range of coastal sports to complement your break away. Our hotel is located in North East England in the heart of South Shields. We are close to great transport links, cultural attractions, shops, pubs, clubs and restaurants - yet far enough away for you to enjoy a good night's sleep. We are five minutes walk to the beach and the North East's stunning coastline.

Road Directions
Follow A174 dual carriageway into South Shields. At the Lord Clyde pub roundabout turn right towards the traffic lights T-junction. Turn left into Beach Road. Head straight along to Number 55. Once upon a Tyne is on the left.
Public Transport Directions
From South Shields Metro Station take the stairs out of the Metro Station, turn right onto the High Street (King Street) and follow this to the roundabout. Turn right and follow this road turning left before the Town Hall onto Beach Road, number 55 is on your left.
